Birth is about YOU. You are going through a transformation. I am here to elevate you as you transform, love you as you grow, listen as you share, answer questions as they rise, witness you as you birth, and nurture you as you heal.
You have instinctual responses. I encourage you to trust your instincts. I believe you can birth your baby on your own. If you are a normal, healthy woman YOU can take responsibility for your birth. I want to help you access your instinctual responses to pregnancy and birth, and support you.
You are WHOLE. My services are holistic. In my services, I emphasizes a holistic approach that considers your mind, body and spirit. We will address and manage your care with continuity through pregnancy, birth and postpartum if you desire. It is my passion to meet you at any stage of your transformation.
I trust you to do what is best for you emotionally, physically, psychologically and spiritually at any stage of your pregnancy and birth.
I support your decisions.
YOU will create your birth story.
I WILL be with you at home.
I WILL be with you in a hospital.
I WILL be with you in the spot you wish to labor,
it is your CHOICE.
Most importantly, I will empower YOU.
This is your story.
Working with me is working for you, together.
During a prenatal visit we will explore your ideal birth physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. We will discuss your birth expectations, concerns, desires and goals. I will explain the doula's role, ask you about your needs, and we will decided on how I can best support you. This is our opportunity to talk freely about pain management techniques, positions of labor, holistic stages of labor, tools you and your partner will need. I will assist you in creating a birth plan, guide you through the options and give you questions to ask your caregivers. We may also do a guided mediation or yoga!
Postpartum follow-up visits (As many as you and baby need!)
More to come!
“I have been blessed to have Laurene for my journey. She was there for me during my pregnancy, there by side for the delivery of my son, and has helped me adjust to being a new mom, with every step in between. I dont know what I would have done without her. Thanks to her I was NOT AFRAID of labor, which I feel is huge for first time moms. She always had my interests in mind while still making sure I was the one in control of everything. She has educated me, provided many resources for me to study and learn more, and have a greater understanding of myself, my body, and my transformation.”
I meet with you to build a relationship and see if we are a good doula-mama-partner match. I want you to feel comfortable working with me.
Our initial meeting can be in person or via phone/video. The next visit will be in person. If you are planning to labor or birth at home, I'd like to meet you there. I am also available to meet with your birth team.
Phone & Email Support
You can call me, text or email with questions and for support from the time you hire me. I am on-call for you 24/7 from 37 weeks until you give birth.
Make decisions for you
I provide tools and information you may need, but I do not make decisions for you. I support your choices.
Perform any clinical tasks
I am not a medical professional. I do not perform anything clinical or medical. I am trained to give nonmedical assistance. I provide emotional and physical support.
Speak to the staff on your behalf
I do not speak for the birthing individual or stand in the way of other members of the individuals team. I will assist in creation of a birth plan and work with your birth team.
Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
This birth is yours. I will not project my own beliefs on to you or your partner. Please read my bio and philosophy to understand I am holistic and natural in my methods as a doula.
Guarantee a specific outcome
I can not promise everything will go the way the birthing individual planned. For example, if birthing time was shorter than expected and I was unable to arrive in time.
My roles as a doula includes a variety of services. The cost of a birth can range from $500-$1,500 and depends on the individuals length of care, preferences, needs, desires and location. It varies based on prenatal, birth and postpartum care as well. Postpartum visits are typically paid by the length of stay, not the role of service.
I use a sliding scale payment method - It means I offer variable prices based on individual/family income. Custom payment plans are available as well.
Do not let the price of my service discourage you from having support, please let me know if you are interested and ask any questions. I am here for you.
We will design a package, so I can support you in reaching your goals.
Your donation helps provide doula care for women who are unable to cover all the costs and allows me to extend my care to a wider range of women. I will not turn away any woman/family who needs support.
